Doesn’t say it couldn’t be an honorary bachelors degree from itt tech :mjpls:

You can basically buy a degree these days with a nice enough donation to some unheard of ass school in backwoods Montana :manny:

Someone with at least 3 years experience, a network of people involved in professional basketball, and knows basic legal language regarding contracts would be a lot more qualified than someone who has none of those things.

I don’t see your point... that should be a given to some degree.... and that still doesn’t require a bachelors degree or guarantee you’re going to be benevolent when guiding these young men’s careers...

It’s blantant for sure

The establishment feels that grip slipping tryna maintain their control. NCAA wanna kill the influence. This rule won’t stop the next agent from disrupting shyt just delay it. Journalists using buzz words for outrage purposes is a dub.

I peeped the Jason Whitelock energy in here

He said guess who Whitlock sided with. Yesterday I seen this video of Whitlock siding with Trump over Steve Kerr....me calling him an Uncle Tom had nothing to do with that video.

I was being facetious when I asked that question about Whitlock but that doesn't translate well on the internet. Whitlock was being a Tom in that video with the whole " black man became a millionaire in America so he can't be a target for racism" card that he and other black conservatives love to play.

I guess Rich Paul is racist against black folk since he thinks this rule targets black folk

"The media is calling it “The Rich Paul Rule” that, while incredibly flattering, is not accurate. It has no impact on me or the business of Klutch Sports Group. However, it does have a significant impact on people like me and the NCAA should be called out for it.

Let’s also be clear that once the NCAA requires a four-year degree for athletes “testing the waters,” it’s only a matter of time until this idea is socialized, no longer questioned, and then more broadly applied. We all know how this works.

Unfair policy is introduced incrementally so people accept it because it only affects a small group. Then the unfair policy quietly evolves into institutional policy. I’m not sure what the technical term is for that because I didn’t finish college but I know it when I see it."

Good to see he understands the rule better than most people in this thread, admitting the rule doesn't affect him in the slightest and that the rule as it exists right now barely even changes anything...the part about it expanding into something down the road that actually makes a difference I agree is something to check for, but realistically that too is a bit overstated...the NCAA has no power or authority to dictate anything to players that have gone definitely declared to go pro, the one and done rule is a couple years from being abolished all together so the absolute best recruits won't have to adhere to the NCAA at all, and the NBA is all but officially ran by the players at this point... the only "incremental" change the NCAA could make is to revert to the same rule that existed forever up until last season, and bar student athletes from having agents in any instance or lose eligiblity
