Comedy IS NOT a platform that generally cares about how people feel "emotionally & mentally" & any group can become a target. Many greats (Pryor, Burr, Diceman, Carlin, Mooney, etc.) give zero fukks & Dave's that type of comedian. It boils down to soft people that shouldn't be watching this brand of comedy getting their feelings hurt.
-Trehs don't want equality. They want to force acceptance & normalization on other people despite their opinions while being protected from criticism & backlash. No reason they should be off limits.
-Dave doesn't preach hate & random bigots agreeing with certain shyt he says isn't his problem, non bigots agree too. Just because he has a huge following doesn't mean he should have to lie about his opinion.

law of comedy: it is OK to punch upwards (NOT downwards though)

lemma: society has treated the black -> LGBT-etc dynamic as up -> down

dave is saying that the black -> LGBT dynamic is in fact down -> up because of "many reasons" (many of which he points out)

one such major reason being the hypocrisy driven by white supremacy of society at large being more accepting of LGBT because of their majority race.

on this basis "in comedy stance" he feels that he is allowed to "punch up".

and he "punches up" to an excessive degree to drive people to confront the biases that led to LGBT acceptance with continuing black denial. to confront why one group is deemed less protected than the other, while in reality overall they are more accepted.

at the end of the day i doubt very much that dave cares about whether LGBT p is real. he DOES however care that society seems to be more sensitive about respecting the "more arguably" derivative parts of some while it simultaneously rejects the real human parts of black others.

now when comedians make these sort of long-winded nuanced points they run the risk of the surface message supplanting his deeper message, which in certain eyes can render it crass in interpretation and hence crass in effect.

My main issue with the special after having just watched is that he is being passive aggressive

He says he is transphobic, but is constantly trying to find reasons to justify it by bringing up double standards that go against black people and the like. And, yes those double standards exist, but it's lame when you bring them up.

If you think trans people are weirdos and don't like them that much and don't get why why have so much power, then say it and leave it at that.

If you think trans people should be allowed to be joked about like everyone else, just say that.
