Usher has one of the smoothest vocals. Dude is definitely a vocalist and some power to his voice. He ain't tevin Campbell or Whitney Houston, but still.

hes the epitome of generic breh.

Dude isn't generic. Britney spears is generic. Usher vocals is smooth. Dude vocals made a lot of those records dope. His vocals carried the weight of his best albums just as much as the production. Confessions, 8701, my way, etc.
by r&b/soul standards he is generic vocally.

Dude is a good singer period. Vocally Usher is smooth as hell and has one of the best falsettos.

I don't believe your listening to his singing because your the only person that I've ever heard online or offline that thinks that usher is a average singer.
Chris Brown &trey songz are average singers.
These are some examples. He ain't average. He's a good singer. Not a great singer, but nonetheless a good singer.
