The Kid Laroi track is surprisingly good. It does sound like something they would have produced back then for JT or Jay-Z.

I clicked on 2 of the 3 to hear the comparisons...this one was the standout in the OP
It sounds like if the Neptunes and Scott Storch did a collab

The other 2 are ridiculous. First dude is doing a whole Pharrell vocal thing and probably using the same synth sounds. Lil X is horrible.

I guess this is the start of the era when the 00s sound/samples get popular.
. . . . coming soon . . . again . . . ..

The soundscapes in music have been so barren we've basically been recycling popular music for the last two decades. The entire spectrum is narrowing to facsimiles of music from the previous century cause the institutions that let black artistry develop in their own pond are gone. LA Reid spoke about this on the R&B Money podcast. The only ones out succeeding are TDE imo. Black American artists could develop themselves in that infrastructure and great things could happen, now it's "how do I get to the money as fast as possible cause I'm not here for the advancement of culture". I can't blame them because the infrastructure is completely fukked. So the behemoths just rinse and repeat every time the returns on investments dwindle. They bought up the incubator labels and then fired the people who knew how to actually work the talent. If the rehasing of this sound doesn't work , they'll move on to early 2k ATL or recycle Timbo beats.

....that one convinces me that the plan for Tommy Richman is one "viral" hit like White Iverson and then he will slowly evolve down the Post Malone stadium rocker route . . .. and that video for "ACTIN UP" sounds more like this one . . .
