Very well known, essentially all of the early rock and hard rock bands from the late 60s and 70s credit black American blues and soul as their main influence.

I don’t even know if you can call it thievery when it’s blatantly said
You clearly didn’t watch the video. They took writing credit for songs they didn’t write and had to settle lawsuits over it.

I mean, I'm all for telling the truth about these overrated cac bands

But this already known :heh:

We should get an appreciation thread going for new and underrated black musicians and bands though
Why do a lot of people on this forum assume

1. If you post a thread it’s news to you (the OP)?

2. You’re not sharing the info to make it more common knowledge for those who may not know?

3. You get points for saying that you already knew something as if you were the only person the information was intended for?

If I operated under the assumption everyone here knows everything, what’s left to talk about?

Cause the only people this would be new info to is people who've never heard about led zeppelin

Or didn't grow up around black people like that :mjpls:

An old head would've put you on game irl

Not even saying that to be an insult. It's just how it is. Been a big discourse around it for decades, but I guess maybe it's different for the gen below me. Probably more of a disconnect, so it could be new to them

But don't get me wrong, I got no problem with the video. A black man producing content that'll get him paid at the end of the day :salute:

I just think more focus should be on supporting black artists. Cause cacs support their own with those bullshyt lists and awards. It's a bunch of black bands right now that are under the radar but really talented

Again, this is well known info

The lawsuits are a major part of their history. Not like it was a secret. A whole section about it on Wikipedia

Cacs bring it up a lot themselves cause it's a sore spot. But like certain other artists, they make excuses :heh:

nikka I’m an old head… originally from the south… grew up around nothing but black people… went to LSU… took classes on the origins of blues and the Mississippi delta.

Again, I’m posting this because the video is well edited and gets to the point and this isn’t common knowledge.
