I haven't looked it up for Zeppelin but the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Cream/Eric Clapton, and many other British rock bands openly discussed it in the 1960s and 1970s. They even took black blues artists on tour, helped get them record deals, etc. I'd also argue all of those bands, including Zeppelin, expanded beyond blues later in their careers so I can't say they stole "all" their music. There's no excusing the jacking that was done, no doubt.
This is a thing people ignore. Many of these bands have blue blues men a place to play overseas and helped revive their careers.

Ive seen some of these groups talk about being influenced. But havent seen them specefecially say "We are performing all of their songs, but in white face:mjgrin:".

Early White Rock and Roll artists started out paying homage to the blues and if it wasn’t for them a lot of those guys would’ve died nameless.

They never hid their influences and elevated those songs to a level the original artist never intended.

They wasn’t popular for the source material, they was popular because John Bonham is the greatest rock drummer of all time, Jimmy Page is top 3 lead rock guitarist all time, and Robert Plant is the rock star archetype.

:blessed: :blessed: :blessed:

So Zeppelin was Drake before Drake :ohhh:

nikka I’m an old head… originally from the south… grew up around nothing but black people… went to LSU… took classes on the origins of blues and the Mississippi delta.

Again, I’m posting this because the video is well edited and gets to the point and this isn’t common knowledge.

:snoop:
So I mentioned before that I inherited about 300+ albums from my grandfather that had them in storage in Florida, a bunch of limited print blues and country from artists that have been long forgotten. I've probably went though maybe 5% of the albums and there's ALOT of stuff that could be on those albums that could've been stolen by others. My grandfather said people used to go to small clubs like baseball scouts looking for talent/musicians but now I'm thinking they were probably writing lyrics down :francis:

Wonder if this was partial inspiration for the movie Sinners :patrice:

Wow, great Thread.

I knew Blues music was created by Americans and was very influential to today's music, but never knew that Bands like Led Zeppelin blatantly stole/plagiarized Blues legends.
