Ralph Cramden threatening to punch his wife in the mouth in a family comedy

this easily. Ralph Kramden got away with that domestic violence shyt because whoppin your wife's ass in the 50s-60s was as in vogue as Jim Crow and ignoring the obvious effects of smoking cigarettes in front of children.

Honeymooners wouldn't last 1 episode with Ralph constantly wilding out like that

I remember watching clips of late night host and guest drinking and smoking. No way will that shyt fly today. That's actually when you use to get better insight from celebs and how they really acted day to day.

To add to Sanford and Son. Fred used wave his hand to say somebody was "funny" in a gay way. Asian jokes about Ha-chu. And of course his "ugly white women" jokes.
He also used ot make comments about Lamont's Mexican friend (I forget his name)

Good stuff in this thread but I'm going to add something that wouldn't fly because no one would believe it: Lucy and Ricky being married with a kid but they sleep in separate beds

Off topic, but I recently found out that Lucy and Ricky were the first interracial couple (white/cuban) on TV. Never thought about them like that.

Yeah that's true. Ricky was full on Cuban too. They didn't try to white wash him which was really cool when you think about the era and how new of a medium tv was

Yeah Ricky was un-apologetically Cuban, so when I read that I was like "how the hell did I not notice all these years that they were in interracial couple"

Its crazy how everything is so PC now a days.
Janet still had her moments, though.....

They used to have some good shots of her legs, too :ohlawd:

Man three's company was my show as a youngin back in the day :russ:
- the whole premise of that show was def ahead of its time. I really didnt catch the premise of the show with jack pretending to be gay as a kid. I never understood why mr roper would get all uncomfortable with him when jack would try to hug him :heh:
- The 70s has to be up there when you talking about goat eras of comedies. They basically :camby:those bullshyt family comedies of the 50s and 60s and had all these diffrerent settings from taxi, standford and son, all in the family, jeffersons, good times, ect..
