I originally watched The Wire when I was young so I never cared for Poot then. Now that I'm way older and I look at the show again Poot somehow became one of my favorite characters :wow:unsung indeed

Poot was the only one to keep it real with lame ass Stringer Bell

"Do the chair know we gon look like some bytches :patrice: "

Poot realer than most. Shoutout Slim Charles as well. Another character that recognized his limitations and played his position at all times, accepting all that came with it :wow:

The first time watching I mainly paid attention to the main characters (Avon, Stringer, Omar, Bunk, McNulty, etc). Now watching I pay more attention to the subtle characters (Vinson, Poot, Butchie, Slim Charles, The Greek, etc.) This show made everyone and everything matter so much :ehh:

I mentioned earlier that Cheese wasn’t originally Prop Joe’s nephew. I don’t think they mentioned their familial relationship until season 4.

Early in season 3, Joe has another nephew that works for him, and Major Crimes unit was hoping that Joe would promote that nephew because he’s an idiot. But Joe promotes Cheese instead. The other nephew is heard on the wire complaining “how can he promote Cheese? I’m kin to Joe”.

Were there any other retcons or changes similar to that? I always thought the show was pretty smooth when it came to things like this. Some great shows (The Sopranos) have some rough patches in season 1, but I think The Wire came out smooth from the gate.

The actor who played DeAngelo did a first class job. He had one of the more complex roles and he was able to express a lot.

He, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tupac are all around the same age and went to the same performing arts school in Baltimore

Season 2 is so much better on rewatches.
Frank Sobotka is one of the best characters in the entire show too.
:wow:
