do you understand the application of violence in a military sense , bro?

Indeed, a long term conflict would be better suited for the Army for many different reasons; however, my focal point is that Marines have a thorough in depth training on deploying the application of violence more aggressively than the Army.

Particularly in terms of first contact with the enemy. Marine Corps training structure is centralized on direct up close aggressive combat strategies, whereas the Army you are just another NUMBER.How to be experts on deploying the application of violence is drilled into Marines heads all day everyday. Kill kill killl is the motto and is chanted during certain training exercises all day for mental conditioning.

A soldier in the Army his entire career will maybe just get his hands dirty doing some National Guard work inside the states because of civil unrest.on the other hand, you would never see Marines used as National Guard troops because they are used for more challenging obstacles our military may come upon.

You ain't lying...they go so far that they have EVERY Marine acting like they some hardcore killers....

Down on the NATTC Pensacola it was nothing but Airedale Marines..yet they cadences and shyt and the way they walked around they acted like they were about to be shipped off to Iraq and kill terrorists...yet they ended up on Aircraft Carriers :lolbron:.

Marine Corps do a god job of getting the recruits to buy into their way of life though...
Join the marines breh

:whoa:
Hell nah, unless you really ready to fully embrace that way of lifestyle, and it's something you dream of.

in the same boat as you Op. thinking about the airforce, but i gotta lose 20 pounds before the recruiter can even talk to me:what:( his words). Got my ASVAB book been studying for a while now. my dad is about to retire from the Marines been in 20+ years and he tells me the airforce is the best way to go.

ill probably try to learn a trade like Hvac or Electrician or just go the IT Route

I'm a 15 yr AF electrical engineer brah(5 more to go :noah:)...it's a great route to take. The trade skill is priceless. even after my initial 4 years in, I knew enough that I could feed my family just doing side jobs. Go for it.

For all those shytting on the military route, can you list other options for a young black male, that is basically shunned from the job market?
trade school

there are grants and stuff for that. apprenticeships, etc

i mean... the military has been overall good to me, but i'm not gonna pretend its all daisies to anyone asking about joining

some of the arguments here are just as dumb though. you got a better chance of getting in shot in some of the neighborhoods people on this site are posting from than being hit up overseas if you really want to be 100 about it. at least if you get fukked up in the military, you'll have all your medical expenses covered and your family is gonna be taken care of worst case scenario. but that's just how i was thinking when i joined. i only went to college at the time because my grandmother didn't want anymore babies in iraq (to her surprise, we're all eating real good right now and she ain't gotta worry about nothin). its something i wanted to do regardless if i'm being honest. i don't really expect people to understand that 100% either. I can say that the reasons that many people do join up for that I've personally have seen have been.... scattered

if you're already in college and you're not feeling making that commitment DON'T to the breh asking what computer jobs are available - check out fedjobs and see if you can work for the DoD as a civilian. get paid 4x as much as a regular joe and work fewer hours. to the guy saying he wants to be in medical, pick the branch less likely to have you attached to nonstop courtesy patrols lol. little stuff like that.

but the overarching comments about "why is a black man righting for a military that oppressed him?" man... you put that label on anything. absolutely anything.
