Yea, this shyt with Iran fukked us over..

Our ship went on a 9month deployment...we get back go on leave for 13 days...the crew gets back from leave, we've been home for about 24 days total...and our CO says because the Nimitz is broke we have to deploy in 2 months time..we were supposed to be home for 6 months and deploy after Christmas...that Iran shyt they want a carrier presence at ALL times which fukked us.

So yea...luckily my job wasn't too bad on deployment...but there are jobs where you'll be working 18 on 6 off.....

For the brehs looking at the Navy tell me what job you looking at and I'll give you the real....most recruiters won't.
I'm in college for my A+ Cert and this is my last semester. Is there anything in the military in the computer field? I would love to join the military, but I would love to work on computers.

And who told you this bullshyt because it just isn't true at all...
Its common knowledge that the U.S Army couldn't hold fallujah so the Marines stepped in to show them how to get the job done. Are you disputing that Marines have a more aggressive approach in combat tactics when compared to the Army? Marines are trained different.Killing is what they specialize in.They are experts in the application of violence.

Don't join the military just because you don't know what to do with your life. There's other safer ways to make money. If there's a certain skill that you want to learn find someone who will mentor you.

No job, doing crappy in school, broke, unmotivated and have no idea what I want to do in life.
Army, Navy, Marines? Any one have some experience in these branches?
I don't know breh shyts depressing. I need some purpose in life and I don't think I'm cut out for this academic shyt. Any advice for a young breh? :mjcry:
Choose an MOS (thats what they call your job) faaar removed from combat, breh.
My friend chose to be an optitrician. He made glasses and sunglases for the army at Fort Bragg. They put him through school to learn how. Thats a skill you can use soon as you get out of the army someday.
If you spend your time learning shyt like driving tanks and killinh ppl, you are gonna get back and find you have no skills in real life. So either you are gonna have to start from scratch, or go into some private version of the same violent bs like being a cop or private security. You will be stuck in that role of subservient violence.

@O Fenômeno

Thanks breh, I think I'm leaning towards the air force now more. :patrice:

Would it be hard for me to get in though?
Airforce is hard to get into. If you go to the army, don't get caught up in the glamour of paratrooping either, cause parachuting over and over will fukk your knees up quick.
Sit your ass at a desk somewhere and make something that they can ship out.
If you do something that is a service not a product (like a doctor or a cook) you will get deployed right along with the rest. You will be one of those "boots on the ground" we always hear about.

Not where you want to be.

Yes I am...Marines couldn't hold Maiwand/Zari district....In fact Marines aren't good for holding any land mass...they are good for the short quick fight not the long one.....MArines have their place but Soldiers are more useful for a drawn out battle...,which most COIN/Wars are,,,,I'd send Marines in before I'd send the Army becUse they are more mobile and it takes the Army longer to set up.

do you understand the application of violence in a military sense , bro?

Indeed, a long term conflict would be better suited for the Army for many different reasons; however, my focal point is that Marines have a thorough in depth training on deploying the application of violence more aggressively than the Army.

Particularly in terms of first contact with the enemy. Marine Corps training structure is centralized on direct up close aggressive combat strategies, whereas the Army you are just another NUMBER.How to be experts on deploying the application of violence is drilled into Marines heads all day everyday. Kill kill killl is the motto and is chanted during certain training exercises all day for mental conditioning.

A soldier in the Army his entire career will maybe just get his hands dirty doing some National Guard work inside the states because of civil unrest.on the other hand, you would never see Marines used as National Guard troops because they are used for more challenging obstacles our military may come upon.

You null and voided your whole statement.

Army. The United States Army is the main ground-force of the United States. The Army's main function is to protect and defend the United States (and its interests) by way of ground troops, armor (tanks), artillery, attack helicopters, tactical nuclear weapons, etc. The Army is the oldest U.S. Military service, officially established by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1775

Marine Corps. The Marines are often referred to as the "Infantry of the Navy." Marines specialize in amphibious operations. In other words, their primary specialty is to assault, capture, and control "beach heads," which then provide a route to attack the enemy from almost any direction. The Marines were officially established on 10 November 1775

And the big picture is...Your comparing a couple of Jabs to knockout blows...
also it seems as if you missed the concept of The Marines having a Reserve....Just like the Navy.....And the Army/AF having reserves and National guard......But forgot about the active duty component that lets me know that your going off of hersy or something you've read.

so how long were you in the Marines? We're you in the military at all?

I agreed with you that the U.S Army is the MAIN ground force in the united states military. What I stated was that the US Marine has a different training structure. From the beginning I could see that you were looking for an argument which is typical of a female trait when seeking attention.

Lastly, no I have absolutely no military experience whatsoever. Now have a nice day sir

If you have no idea if the training how can you comment on training philosophy training is Career Management field driven and directed...A Marine Infantryman receives the same training as an Army Infantryman....a Army Cook receives the same training as a Marine cook...Marine Artillery receive the same training as Army artillery infact they even train in the same places....The basics of the job and tactics aready all alike....the difference is that for some reason you have grasped a concept that the same training philosophy works for all.

Every Marine is a Rifleman every Soldier is an Infantryman but it's just not true.

Sadly that's exactly who the army prey on for recruitment, that's why I :pacspit: at all the bullshyt "praise the troops, God bless them, blah blah blah"

They don't join the army for honor and protecting the rights of Americans, it's to get a paycheck when they got NOTHING else on the table

Joe biden got shyt for pointing this out but he was 100% right
