Thinking of joining the Military

Yeah, I was leaning more towards the Navy tbh.

Can you go more in depth about the Air Force though? I didn't list it because I'm not the biggest fan of air combat though I'm sort of ignorant to that branch.

As an enlisted you won't be having anything to do with aircraft combat...you'll be more likely support...tech,supply,refuel jets,etc look at the description of the jobs.
You go NAVY try to get a job that is more land based..you do NOT want to get stationed on a carrier.

Try searching for trade school/jobs first.

If you MUST join a service, I'd recommend Air Force first, Navy as the second choice. Get some good engineering experience in there that will open up a lot of doors for you.

Real shyt...Navy is a good branch if you just want to skate by,do your 4 years and get out...in fact in the fleet the shytbags would get rewarded when their original department didn't want them so they'd get sent to work at some cake ass job like in the Library or chaplains office

Outside of actually joining the military, this is the advice I'd personally give you OP.

Whatever you join, remember that we are gearing up for war again. With the political mess the Democrats have made, you can pretty much expect a Right Leaning White House for at least 4 years. Expect war, brehs! No seriously! Everybody is sleeping. Obama pretty much p*ssyfooted with everybody on the war front. When a Republican gets in they will want to show they won't be the same way. We even have a new boogeyman lined up. Al Qaeda on the way out and ISIS on the way in.

True, which is another reason why I advise that if this man that if he absolutely wants to join, then go Air Force. I was in during all of the Bush Jr years and only deployed twice for short periods, not anywhere near the fighting.

I'm only recommending the Navy because there's a guy at my job now from NY that went the stationary engineering route in the Navy and we start out at $25/hr, you can't beat that kinda opportunity for going into a service like that. I'm sure there's even more out there when you look even harder.

Yea, this shyt with Iran fukked us over..

Our ship went on a 9month deployment...we get back go on leave for 13 days...the crew gets back from leave, we've been home for about 24 days total...and our CO says because the Nimitz is broke we have to deploy in 2 months time..we were supposed to be home for 6 months and deploy after Christmas...that Iran shyt they want a carrier presence at ALL times which fukked us.

So yea...luckily my job wasn't too bad on deployment...but there are jobs where you'll be working 18 on 6 off.....

For the brehs looking at the Navy tell me what job you looking at and I'll give you the real....most recruiters won't.

nothing wrong joining the military i loved it

good pay
free medical and dental
travel
paid vacation

all u gotta do enlist for the right job and do what ur told
granted u will deal with shytheads but that any job only difference is in the military tends to be more of a pain
unless u got thick skin u can brush it off like it aint shyt

what branch is a matter of preference i always hear good things bout air force tho and the females

i did 8 yrs as a dental assistant and dental hygienist
was stationed in japan, italy, tdy to germany and hawaii and stationed in san antonio

the key is using the military more than lettin it use u as much
take advantage of the schools they have
try to get promoted
go to OCS if possible or green to gold etc..........

Nah he wasn't nuke he was boiler technician. I don't know much outside of that I had went to trade school instead of the service for this field.
