Lemme gohead and ground you real quick...

. 3 Questions...if no to any of them, then go to community college breh.
1. Do you use drugs..heavily/recently..and can you honestly give them up?
2. Do you have a criminal history?
3. Are you fit?
No to any of these will either out right eliminate your chances for any Branch these days. Marines and Army used to waive some items but with the drawdown and troop cuts...no love. You need to really identify your interests as in career field, this translates into what job you desire (to be trained in) If your sole goal is money...then you need better MOS choices...in lieu of better ASVAB score. Generally these jobs are Medical repair, Avionics, IT, Intelligence, and so on. This training combined with a mature drive to combine with College/Certification is how the "money goal" is reached. The military will allow you to gain experience in the field by real world application. It takes drive and ambition to get promoted tho, which is how your money increases while still in Military. All branches have relatively the same job pools, exception being the Marine and Army Symmetric/Assymetric land warfighting needs, this of course feeds into jobs that make you an individual that is fine with eliminating other humans in close combat efficiently. Those skillsets vary, but generally are limited... as to how that may translate once you exit the service to find employment that values them. It has been in my experience that once you get your training and fill of guts and glory....you reclassify/retrain into a marketable skill.
