I don't have a 9-5 but for the first time in my life since high school I'm working for someone else. I enjoy it because I use this time as a chance to learn the ins and outs of being a legit business owner. I don't plan to be here for the rest of my life, but for the time being I'm happy here, I love meeting new people and I love that I don't have the amount of stress that a typical business owner has. If they go bankrupt tommorow it's not a big deal for me. I didn't have to pay anything to work here so I can't lose either way. When I click out I leave my work at work and come home and enjoy spending time with my son and friends and family.

I would add two things which are sort of related to your 2nd point.

(3) I don't want to be micromanaged.

(4) I don't want to be working under somebody who is clearly less knowledgable than me or does not understand what goes into my work

Just quit my job of 5 months yesterday. Boss was a bytch and I'm done taking orders, dunno wtf I'm gonna do next but it ain't gonna be working for someone else again thanklessly for shytty pay and having to ask someone else for time off and not getting it when I'm there everyday 10 minutes early. I'm with you OP. To anybody who loves their 9-5 more power to you, but that shyt can mentally and physically drain you. As cliche as it sounds you gotta follow your dreams, whatever they may be.
