@Billy Ocean and me tried to tell you about @SirBiatch :francis:

And for the record, you're 100% right.
NWA released the Panic Zone single August 13, 1987. That single had the original versions of 8ball (which is an Eazy song about getting drunk, fighting and "fukk the police" which we all know was written by Cube...Cube literally had Eazy say "Ice Cube writes the rhymes that I say" :lolbron:) and Dopeman - which is pretty fukking self explanatory :russ:

I'm not super familiar with the first PE album...but I'm willing to bet that they didn't have content like that on that album :manny:

So the idea that Cube used PE as a precedent for what he did on SOC, is ridiculous.

The BDP influence though :jbhmm:
There may be something to that. The P is Free was the B Side to South Bronx in 86 and Criminal Minded dropped early in 87. I have to imagine that NWA heard that album, maybe even before they recorded Dopeman and 8Ball.

a) nice to see you copy my posting style. You aint mad tho :troll:
b) SOC is NWA's debut album. FACT. Yo Bumrush is P.E.'s debut album. FACT. both parties were rapping the way they rap before their debut albums. Doesn't matter. P.E. were active since '82 and put out tapes of what they were doing in 1984. Doesn't matter.

There is no way you can slice it to pretend that P.E. and KRS didn't debut at least a year before NWA. It's pathetic to watch you try and I still have no idea why you're so defensive about this. It doesn't make NWA any less dope. Great artists influence other great artists. NWA were influenced and went on to influence others because they were dope in their own right. what's wrong with admitting this? You're trying desperately to time-shave the gap without realizing that even 7-8 months is a long ass time in the music world. It takes moments to make songs. Hip hop at a certain point changed so quickly between one year and the next. But NWA were in such a bubble that they weren't influenced by KRS/P.E., despite sampling both on their debut album? :pachaha: OK breh.

No one is copying your posting style, more like mocking it since it's so played at this point. You should switch it up honestly. Maybe you can post like OnlyInCalifornia :pachaha:

They didn't and their music was already out. A legit release. Singles were OUT. Boyz In The Hood was OUT. Ruthless even re-released it as an album later. It's officially apart of their catalog. It's not a mixtape, it's not a fan put together album. It's not some throw away tracks. They were songs that were out, originally by the group known as NWA written by Cube. Word to @mobbinfms That was before the Public Enemy singles. So no, they didn't pre-date NWA by well over a year. NO Chuck D and Ice Cube are not the same artist. And KRS One being sampled on Straight Outta Compton doesn't mean he directly influenced Cube nor was that style pre-dating Ice Cube. That like saying Eminem's Infinite wasn't his first piece of work but really Slim Shady LP was his first album. That's actually re-planting an artist but that's a different debate....we will stick to this one.....

No matter how bad you want to spin yourself out of this L, you won't. Cobra clutch breh. Like I said, I have no problem going back and forth all day.

Cube wrote Boyz In The Hood in 86 actually...so we can't even look to BDP either.

and P.E. didn't have singles out?! KRS didn't have singles out?

I'm legit confused at your struggle-argument.

There's been several Westcoast MCs from that era that name KRS as someone they listened to heavy so it wouldn't be surprised if BDP was a influence on NWA/Cube. Older Westcoast dudes like Snoop know early BDP lyrics word for word.

went mute :mjlol:

Oh this is a real argument now? I thought my argument was so flawed you couldn't respond before :dead:

The singles they had out were not in LA in some massive way in 1986 to where they had no style of their own and then were like DAMN WE NEED TO COPY THIS! I already addressed that. You know when you didn't want to debate and just play the over used 'emotional' card??

lol @ you thinking you are winning and getting excited because I didn't see your struggle quote and desperate attempt to spin out of your L because of other conversations and posts. My bad, you just aren't as important as you might think you are around here.

Why do you continue to talk about the westcoast and westcoast hip hop when it's clear you are not into it and don't know your history? LA had it's own scene and at the time, before NWA, it was more electro oriented and people were not listening to BDP singles like that. It was LA Dream Team, World Class Wrecking Cru, Egyptian lover type music then.

Nas was the better rapper
Cube has a better catalog
Who's music is better? That's objective for every Nas verse you got theres a better Cube verse and vice versa

Who means more to hip hop?
Each rapper meant something different. Nas gave birth to an entire new generation with his first album and was one of the first time you had multiple hot producers working with a new artist. But Cube was the voice of the struggle for a strong 6-7 years. When Cube spoke you listened for a strong political message. I don't think one meant more than the other they both stood for something different and profound.
