I'm not really tripping off this. We will still end up being 2 or 3 if we win out. And yeah, we're facing criticisms that other teams aren't, which is bogus. With that being said, style points matter in college football. They've always mattered and probably always will. If any fanbase should know this it's FSU fans. That's how we ended up finishing in the top 5 for 14 years straight, or jumping UM after they beat us in 2000 to play Oklahoma for the title. We kicked the shyt outta everyone we played after that game so thoroughly that you had to take notice. We have the opportunity to style on a "hot team" in primetime this Saturday. Until we style on somebody this shyt will continue to happen. It's basically that sword of Damocles, "Heavy is the head that wears the crown," conundrum.

Don't got nothing to do with record. A true playoff negates all of that. There is no system in place. Those rankings are based on style points. Mississippi State is ranked number one with a zero track record and the perceived value of the conference they play in. They haven't even played/beaten all of the best teams in the conference.

Like every other major conference the SEC has weak teams at the middle and bottom every year.
because people vote based on perception. FSU struggles against Louisville on the road and they're not that good. Mississippi struggles at home against a team like Florida and the get props for going through the SEC gauntlet
Arkansas gets props for losing close games in the SEC even though they still LOSE.
