that said tho i assume she went thru some racist shyt out there. puerto ricans are a little racist in my experience. where i work, hotel in midtown, most of the guards and bellmen are puerto ricans and ive heard some pretty racist shyt come out of their mouths because im a very light skinned dominican. they usually think im white so they feel comfortable. i also heard that they are nasty to the dominicans that work in the kitchen upstairs and called them racist names. most puerto ricans i know personally arent bad but since i started working here i started to see it because most of these PRs are in their 60s

There was this chick from PR who lived in the US Virgin Islands where I used to live that didn't date me because she thought I was Dominincan.

It was only until she found out I was African American did she all of a sudden show interest.

There was this chick from PR who didn't date me because she thought I was Dominincan.

It was only until she found out I was African American did she all of a sudden show interest.

of course i do. man my fam has so many stories of when they first arrived here from DR and PRs used to shyt on them daily. one PR lady at the welfare office told my mother's cousin that "if dominican and black women stopped being whores, they wouldnt need so much welfare for their ugly ass black kids". my mother heard a lady in the bus tell another PR lady "dominicans are just spanish speaking ******s". all kinds of shyt. the block we moved to was 90% PR back in those days and not its 90% DRs.

me in that other thread defending dominicans doesnt mean that i think we arent black, i always said we have a huge percentage of african heritage. many of us are mixed and most of that mix is african, but after generations and generations of interracial marriage and mixing, race kind of just lost meaning for us. thats the whole argument. we arent delusional enough to think that to the rest of the racist world we are just a country full of spanish speaking monkeys

Back when I still lived up top I saw this a well. Puerto Ricans will make fun of Dominicans facial feature and hair in a heartbeat.

DR's are discriminated heavily against in Puerto Rico as well.
