Back when I still lived up top I saw this a well. Puerto Ricans will make fun of Dominicans facial feature and hair in a heartbeat.






DR's are discriminated heavily against in Puerto Rico as well.

yea especially since alot of DRs in PR went over illegaly

most of them are mixed with black, but a lot of them don't even want to acknowledge that fact. it was a slave colony.

Slavery in PR was never as big as in Cuba or Haiti. However Slavery did last longer in PR than it did in the US.

half way in basically she says she felt the same racial issues in PR as in the states, and DR had a lot more issues. People called people with nappy/curky/kinky hair something that translated to bad hair, and most Ricans are brown skin but considered themselves white.

There was this Dominican in my class who i used to work with in group assignments, 95% of the discussions he started had something to do with dark skin and nappy hair .

I don't understand how parents can raise their kids to be bigots .

God, i'm glad my parents raised me to be open minded and accept everyone for who they are.

I judge individuality not by race.

i'm guessing it's some black woman lamenting the racist experiences she had in puerto rico. it's funny how ricans try to deny they came from black people. it's like people aren't even being raised on their history. they descended from slaves, and now they want to act brand new? "oh, we ain't black."
