At work I keep things straight no need for jokes or trying to be every-bodies friend. Cac tried shyt like that with me I would have given him that look.

You need to get your shyt together @DOUBLE UP, it's a business meeting, it lasted an hour you were expected to contribute something and WOULDN'T OR COULDN'T...So I been on the coli since June 2012 and I have 112 posts, so im the definition of a lurker.. on the coli and in real life.
So our department was having a meeting with this guy from another company. He wanted to understand how our supply chain works, so we in a team of about 8, im the only black guy, the meeting lasts about an hour with everyone in our team going back and forth with the guy and im just

I’m just the type of guy that only talks when I’m adding value or when I have to, I won’t just talk for no reason. Why do outspoken people feel like everyone should be like them?
I'm pretty introverted myself but I'll be damned if I let some CACS assume I'm a dummy who's afraid to speak because he doesn't know anything or can't speak properly in a business setting...

I am an introvert (with a natural resting bytch face), and I am also a mid level manager. An introvert doesn't mean that you don't have the ability to get involved, it just means it is more comfortable for you to not do so. For work's sake, you need to push yourself to get critically engaged, or act like it every now and then. When one of my staff consistently doesn't participate, they are perceived as having a poor attitude. You will also be looked at as easily dispensable and not adding much value to your team.
I don't like the corny jokes and small weather talk at the meetings, but all my bosses are social, old white men, so I'll offer a small smile for the jokes and when suggestions and agreements are made, I'll throw in a few words of support or concern based on my insight within my role. If I don't have anything to add, I'll still watch my facial expressions, and actually say, "sounds like a productive conversation, not much more to add here" with a short smile.
