There's a Dan Marino-ish quality to Steph Curry, brehs.

He gets off that shot so trigger quick that you really can't do anything about it.

he doesnt have the lateral quickness to keep his hands up? :ohhh:

Your hands down do 2 things

1 - Keeps the defender honest while dribbling as your arms pose a threat of a steal and widen your frame for containment
2 - Helps you move side to side faster while keeping your balance

try defending someone sticking your arms straight up and unless you are incredibly light-footed, they will blow by you 10 times out of 10.

If you don't switch then he will have an open (or step back 3) or a drive to the lane (he shoots like 65+% at the basket and 91% from the line). Bogut and Green set great screens. You almost have to switch or trap or he will burn you every time.

@Newzz Trapping and doubling him from 30+ feet saps a lot of energy and isn't really sustainable in a game against this team, and especially not a series. That is one reason the Cavs got worn out in the Finals.

Why not hedge until the guard gets back on Steph? What about double teaming after the switch instead of keeping the big man on an island..giving up the two or making anyone else score other that klay>giving up the three to steph

What about the clutch? Why not at least trap with less than 3 mins left

Maybe. I agree GSW would have won anyway.

But the strategy Cleveland used was effective. Just not effective enough

Marginally effective. The Warriors oRating in the finals was still 107, compared to 110 in the 3 series prior.

I hear you breh...but playing any other way isn't any better at all, which is why Golden State have won all but 6 games this year.

You just have to rotate bodies on him...attempting to out-score/out-run & gun the Warriors gives you 0 chance of winning. You're gonna have to run them off the 3point line:manny:

What about hedging until the guard can get back?

Doesn't work against teams that move the ball very well.

That back to back Heat team made their bones off of hedging and blitzing the pick and it worked for the most part, but when they had to play SA the second time around, with some players who can knock down the open shots, it didn't work as well.

Barnes, Barbosa, Green, Livingston, and even Iggy to a degree can knock down the open 3.
