the old heads are the worst about it, too. can't just get over the fact that the new generation is taking over so they'll just complain about upcoming rappers not bein creative or someshyt, and then complain when they try to be a little creative and don't stick to a regional sound.

why not use the upped feature as a way to write a review on/rate albums/mixtapes?
The OP should be a review and rating.
There should be moderators who specifically listen to and review mixtape and albums
That would definatly get a album more (or less) listens then simply upping it and letting the artists current popularity generate interest. It would also be a way for these moderators to stand out so we know who has a good ear and who doesnt..........and who deserves to be a moderator and who doesnt. I mean, theres no reason why you cant use this position as practice or as a way to get urself writing reviews/rating albums for a mainstream media source.

if we change this system to something where every upped thread has a review accompanied with a standard rating..............nikkas will check for shyt with a high rating.
and if it dont live up to the rating nikkas will let it be known, go back and forth with the moderator that wrote the review (hopefully about specifics of the album) and if the moderators ear is found to be lacking nikkas will demand a change.
