Elgin is another all time underrated great. What's crazy is he 35 38 and 34 points a game in consecutive seasons and still never won a scoring title because of Wilt.

It's a damn shame how some of y'all don't appreciate the dudes who built the game cause y'all are so insecure about your fav player now. Y'all nikkas ain't really hoop fans like that.

His name rarely has been brought up in many basketaball discussion. When we talk about the best small forwards that ever step on the NBA's hardwood floor, the first name comes out of people's mouth is Larry Bird then Lebron James.

I know about Elgin Baylor for a long time, sir. I blame the Lakers' fans for not being knowledgable about their home team's history. They never mention Baylor's name in any of the threads in the-Coli and many other social media's forums. It is obvious the Lakers have a lot of bandwagoners that don't know anything about other Hall of Famers that wore Lakers' jersey beside Kobe and Magic. You will never hear them talk Gail Goodrich either. :smh: Jerry West and Elgin Baylor should have been the first players to earn recognition and praise before Magic and Kobe. The Lakers don't even have a statue of them in front of their building. :what:

I think more mainstream fans need to be exposed to footage like what I've found and put together... it's not until something like what I made is presented to someone who's never seen Elgin play that they'll really recognize he should be right up there with the greatest players. He's a name most fans either forget or worse, fail to even recognize when they make their lists. I can see how my videos on YT generate views and guys like Wilt will generate thousands of views a week just from people searching his name on Youtube let alone people posting one of my vids anywhere. In comparison, hardly anybody will ever search for Elgin's name. Sadly, I'd guarantee you more people on Youtube search for Brian Scalabrine or DJ Mbenga than they do for Elgin.

i blame the NBA as a whole. they like to push a lot of the best players of the past to the back besides a certain few. and it's sad.
thats why i like what Dan is doing with his vids, giving me the ability to see these cats i've heard of actually play

The official NBA Elgin Baylor career highlight video:

:deadmanny:

That was posted on NBA.com a few years ago. If I was a new NBA fan and that was my first impression of Baylor - it would destroy any hope of putting Elgin even in the top 500 let alone top 50. They make it look like he had a 10 inch vert, and played basketball in slow motion in the silent film era with Charlie Chaplin.
