Music nowadays is PURE shyt

the only classic to drop in the present time is John Legend - All Of Me

the quality of that track matches the 90s levels of greatness

everything else sucks

if you know music as well as me, you will agree

if you disagree, ur an idiot

I have no doubt that for the kids today that the music of today will be "classic" to them and also I'm sure out parents hated our music in the 90s, but looking at that list the thing that stands out most to me is how many Black artists held the top spots compared with today. That shyt really stands out

Whoop there it is, rump shaker and informer all in front of a classic like g thang. I hope this will help put to rest the thought some of these nikkas have that only classics were popping in the 90's. It was just as much bull shyt or more than it is now, y'all just try to tune it out

Maybe. but it was so much easier to find everything. There was so much more balance, and in so many ways it seemed like everyone got equal push. Remember, Com Sense made I Used to Love H.E.R. in '94.

I don't feel this way at all. I remember my parents liking a lot of what was on the radio. There was a lot of classic music in the 80s and 90s. At the same time, even as a kid I thought the 70s was just outstanding musically. There is some good stuff today, but not much that will go down as memorable. A lot of that is how artist used to have to make music. You still have some good artists today, but man there is a lot of fluff. Even a lot of the fluff in the 80s and 90s was groups that had to at least harmonize or were former background singers that finally got their shine. None of that is cool these days. Plus rappers and DJs run a lot of the black music rather than the days of actual composers, musicians.

Our music now is made for children and immature adults. Classics back then were made for all ages. Now it is ball about sex and ratchet shyt
You're exactly right. At some point they stopped catering urban music to grownups. The crazy thing is that the r&b radio stations for adults get better ratings than hip hop radio stations.

speak for yourself breh.

also keep in mind, that our parents' generation didnt grow up on hip-hop. at best, they got exposed to it in college/high school.

:pacspit: Informer was the OG Stop Snitching track before the stupid shirts.

Looking at this..what the fukk ever happened to Lo-Key? They had like two hits and were gone without a trace like they never existed.

thats how it be happenin.

people used to come out with some of the hottest chit, then dissappear into thin air.

i remember trina & keyshia cole brought that hook back a few years ago.
