And I’m from PG County. KD is a self made player more than anyone we’ve seen ascend to his level.
I disagree. KD is celebrated for having guard-like handles. You don’t hear people saying “he has good handles for someone his size.” But I agree he has been turning the ball over more as of late. And I don’t know your definition of self-made, but KD definitely had highly intelligent mentors and coaching growing up. His game wouldn’t have been as refined as it was by 18 without it. I personally know some of them. I would venture to say many NBA players didn’t have access to as many mentors given the concentrated access available in the DMV. Embiid and Giannis are way more self-made superstars in that regard given where they grew up.
