So since Kobe was always able to play the weak east in the finals, shouldn't his numbers be better than Lebron who had to play against the stacked west?
No.
Cause one of the few advantages the east has over the west is perimeter defenders.
West has better overall teams and inside play. But the east had the better perimeter defenders.
Hence the reason Kobe always had better numbers in the West finals than NBA finals.
