The Spurs post Bowen and pre Leonard with no perimeter defense? The Suns who were mediocre on defense? The thunder, who were led by a bunch of 20-21 year old kids and worse than they were now with no playoff experience yet? The Celtics, who played 3 on 5 offensively with rondo who couldn't shoot and Perkins? The Pelicans led by Chris Paul without David west since he was hurt? You must be tanking. They were middle of the pack in defensive rating. That's not awful, but it isn't good either.

Ok genius, if LeBron is so much better than Kobe and a 31 year old Kobe would fare worse with this cavs team, why are the warriors giving him 3 feet of cushion and begging him to shoot the ball every time he catches it? Why is he not demanding a double team? Could they gaurd Kobe the same way or would their defense have to adjust?

They play different games. If a defense tried to guard LeBron close and sent help defenders over, he wouldn't shoot bad fadeaways. He would get a dunk or a kick out to a wide open 3 point shooter every single play.

They always love to point out that LeBron is in the weak east and that's how he gets to the finals, but that also means he plays tougher opponents in the finals. Kobe always got to face "weak" eastern teams in the finals yet still doesn't really have any memorable performances. They're just left talking about his earlier western conference series where Kobe went off because the entire team was worried about stopping Shaq.

Nah, youre creating a false narrative about Kobes game... As if ge would do that every single time. First of all, he the second best passing 2 of all time... And secondly whether or not he makes those fade aways determines how the defense is going to play him. This opens up the game for other players where as LeBrons only weapon is the drive... Causes a stagnant offense and becomes progressively easier to defend as the game wears on.
