You also forgot prime Brock, prime Tista, young Orton, young Cena, heel Edge, Kane, and RVD.

Yet people still cry and say "but Vince was going to bury him!"

Like Vince is in the business of losing money. All of the WCW guys got to hold the WHT and had nice runs. and Rey's still eating... but whatever... keep telling yourselves that.

I'm willing to give it a shot :yeshrug:

I'm personally not expecting a 5 star classic between him and Taker, still wanna see it though.

How many of us expected Rock vs Hogan to be a good? or HBK vs HHH @ Summerslam after Shawns hiatus? Or Foley vs Edge or Orton and he was the definition of flabby n sick

One thing about the older wrestlers that people seem to forget... is that even if they're not wrestling like they did in the 80s, 90s or whatever... they still know how to deliver when it comes to a big-time match. Undertaker's been supposedly broken down for years, and still puts on the best or one of the best matches every year at Mania. Sting might not be giving it 100% in TNA against Samoa Joe or Jeff Jarrett nshyt, but if he had a big 20-years-anticipated WrestleMania match, I doubt he'd show up not ready to go.

how would you book a Sting/Undertaker storyline

I don't see any way that either of them can be a heel, so it'll have to be a "mutual respect" storyline between two babyfaces whose paths are finally crossing.

Sting as the Crow character all through the build, speaking only enough to get across why he's there (he's coming to the end of his career and this is his last chance to do the one thing he's never done: end the streak). Showing Taker respect, showing Taker's fans respect, but leaving no doubt he's there to win and emphasizing that this is his last hurrah.

Mostly he'd be silent, totally serious, never smiling, hanging out in the rafters, occasionally showing up in the ring when the lights go out, pointing his black bat at Taker but never attacking him with it, and leaving Taker looking concerned and worried after every encounter.

I wouldn't have either of them wrestle at all during the build, and they wouldn't have any physical contact. 100% psychological storyline with Sting dominating.

As for the match itself, of course Taker wins in the end, but the match is heavy on storytelling and psychology more than action. And they show respect for each other and shake hands when it's over.

Gotta be something like that, right?

Taker comes out and goes over on somebody and does his taunt...

Undertakertaunt.jpg

Then right in the middle of it you just hear a bunch of crows calling and flapping wings..and you hear..

"Hey Undertaker..up here.."

Undertaker like WTF and looks around then looks up..

Sting-rafters.jpg

And you let that camera just sit on him and let that crowd cook..then roll the credits to end raw. That's how he should come in. :obama:

if this was gonna be a one off I'd have Undertaker cutting a promo after the SummerSlam hinting at retirement..then the lights go out and lightning hits

Then have a creepy little girl on the titan tron

tumblr_mb7h3vjoXR1rtknhto1_1280.png
and say "he's coming for you"

lights come back on, Undertaker looks confused and finishes his promo...let the commentators speculate.

Next week..After an Undertaker match [since he's "retiring" he's gotta have going away matches right?] lights go out, lights come on there's a casket ring side..opens it up, doves fly out of it. Creepy girls on the titan tron "make peace with your end"

[fast fwd through Night of Champions and Battleground]

heading into building up Survivor Series

Creepy girls show up on Titan tron "it will end where it started" [Undertaked debuted at Survivor Series] then a druid comes out and hands him a small box...with a scorpion inside it.

3 weeks before Survivor Series lights go out..Girls on Titan Tron standing in front of a door with a glass window and you see Stings shadow [but u can't see him] they say "he's here" Undertaker has the main event that night on Raw..Undertaker does his taunt, lights go out..lightning through out the arena. Lights come on ring is filled with smoke...when the smoke clears..Sting is standing there

The pop will depend on where they debut him. Certain places it will be crazy other places it'll be lackluster. A lot of these towns are notoriously flat for surprises or returns because they don't know much about these guys, they're newer fans.
