breh, I am white and I was just sitting there ashamed listening to this as they called laziness "pure bravery". Kanye just went on a bender for a minute and put out a weird drug induced album and white people are reading a deep mythos into it

That is EXACTLY why it works. Hype, story, drama, etc. All the world is a stage, we are all actors. All that matters is you play your part well and the consumers will feed. Kanye said "who he wanted to be" and it's a back and forth of setting out to make it so and the reaction of the people.

It's true, I am dressed like a hipster cac right now in my button up shirt and glasses sitting in my cushy office Downtown :whoo:

Love is love, regardless of skin color. While I realize it is black culture that doesn't keep me from appreciating the art and culture.

What does race have to do with anything? SMH @ this narrow minded shyt...

Kanye just released a dope fukking album. Why are nikkas mad that they don't like it, whereas most of the music world does? If you don't like it, don't like it. Nothing wrong with that, just means your taste differs. Kanye's albums have always focused on various sounds, from the soul loops on CD to the more live instrumental sound of LR. Or the foray into electronic music on Graduation. This album is like a mainstream Death Grips album, making it far from the regular mainstream of hip hop or pop music.

Not all white people are fukking with this album, just like not all black people are hating on it. Take your race bullshyt somewhere else. Hip hop doesn't belong to one race.

Wow...

Yall can dumb down a nuanced conversation at break neck speed

It's not about being a white hip hop fan with an opinion...If you listen to the link I posted maybe you can understand what I'm saying and have the conversation..

My point isn't "you = white so please stfu and lets us n1ggas run things"...That's the strawman that neph27 threw out there... Listen to the link when you get time..

Lukie is a white guy and he understands what I was saying..

stop putting labels on shyt. Kanye makes art that appeals to a wide range of fans..... many of whom are hipsters but whatever... it is what it is.

And dont try to make this into a race thing, alot of white people hate Yeezus too.

This is a hip hop site...And The Booth is in a specific rap subforum on the site...

So not only does nobody on here see color, they don't recognize genres either?

:russ:

Progressive open minded group we have here..

:salute:

The point of the thread was my opinion and people with opinions like me doesn't matter...People that want Kanye to bring back the soul and do the music that he did for Cam and Scarface don't matter...People that say Yeezus is trash don't matter.. Because history is gonna end up showing that the people that do matter (like these two music critics with Grammy votes) feel its a sea change for the culture and the most ground breaking innovative album of its era...

I'm not saying they don't have the right to their opinion...I'm saying that in 2013 Kanye would rather have their approval than a n1gga like me...I'm not upset about it.. I'm just stating facts...

I wasn't even talking to you though breh or speaking on exactly what you posted. I was simply responding to a post I was mentioned in. I know that isn't what you meant (white = please stfu) and I fully agree some white people who don't respect the culture and try to drive down front street on certain aspects of it are going to get the :comeon:

And hipster cac's have been Ye's core fanbase since Late Reg when he collaborated with hipster-approved producer, Jon Brion. An album that was initially panned by hip-hop message boards due to it having too many pianos and strings according to some of it's detractors back then :lolbron:

That's crazy you mention that because I also definitely remember when Late Registration came out the amount of people that were upset that it was so over produced.

If only they could've had a time machine to hear Yeezus.

Let's not even mention the backlash from 808's & Heartbreak. :ohlawd:

U gotta understand, for dudes like this its less about the music and more about hearing themselves speak and regurgitating the consensus of what is deemed admirable in their realm

Yeezus is a terrible piece of music, but its avant garde (on the surface) and its rap music. That combination is a god send for fukkers like this. Blegh the sound of these guys voices is one of the reasons I left NYC

I think more people are annoyed at the fact these cacs know all this over-analyzed, contrived bullshyt more than anything else.

It's just good music, and I love Kanye's music, but sitting down and sipping tea and analyzing and deifying Kanye like these cacs are doing in this podcast just has me :what:

When you love a song you don't have to qualify why you do or don't like it, you just feel it. Music is totally, totally relative, but when people try to make something that should be an opinion as an indisputable fact, it's just :heh:
