As much as I’d love to ascribe this dude’s come-up to cacistry, he encapsulates the point that behind the creation of any great product( music, apps, etc) is great taste. He’s a dirty-looking, MAGA loving cac, that can’t play a single instrument, but his musical taste is undeniable and people seek him out for it. It’s the same thing with Steve Jobs, couldn’t write a line of code, but was so audacious about expressing his taste

Lot’s of stories about Rick Rubin ‘’producing’’. He would show up once a week, stay for an hour and leave. He has a whole production team working for him. He’s come a long way from an NYU student with Russel Simmons starting Def Jam from his dorm room.

Glorious album, great song writing, Kiedis actually making an effort with his vocals and a clean John Fruciante playing at his best. Rubin has a knack for bringing out great performances from artistes after a hiatus, same thing with Jay and the black album
