I've been trying to tell folk here, once you get your algorithm set past all of the bs tiktok is gold. But there is a lot of juelzing and contempt prior to investigation as already displayed in this thread.

As an objective voice, I use TikTok and enjoy it. But a spade is a spade. The government is likely under immense pressure from moneyed interests to ban TikTok but, they are correct that the biggest social media app in the U.S. probably shouldn't be Chinese owned. Imagine if Fox, ABC, CBS and NBC were owned by Chinese companies. That's basically what people are arguing for. We already know China would never let our media channels replace their state owned media so the conversation is already off to a rocky start to begin with. Them nikkas better sell TikTok to a U.S. company and call it a day

Normally I don't agree with government getting involved with shutting down media, but I legitimately believe China is using TikTok for nefarious pur against Americans.

Why did they only add a STEM section when they've had it all along EMBEDDED in their algorithm back home in Beijing?


Because our government put the heat on em.

Also every generation has a commie phase, social media just amplifies everything.

People would use apps made by ISIS if it was popping enough and would do everything in their power to justify why it wasn't a concern.

One piece if advice, don't ever in your life depend on a gen z. Lol They are so incredibly emotional and uninformed when it comes to living in the real world. But if they could pair their endless amount of complaints with action they'd be unstoppable.

Yes. Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Period. You're cool with me saying whatever I want in the privacy of my own home, but you're not cool with people doing it online because someone can gain access to it, and use it to "sow discord" in your words.
