The trends are pushing us to a second gilded age. People don't understand that America was almost on the cusp of a civil war. Bolshevism was popular in the early 1930s because the amount of wealth inequality was MASSIVE. People had no sense of a future or hope so you had a lot of people basically just saying "I could either die sick and starving on the street or go out guns blazing"
That's where we are headed. Don't be shocked if the school shooters stop targeting their peers and start targeting bosses and landlords. Don't be shocked if workers who were laid off pull up to the fulfillment centre and start blasting.
They irony of unrestrained capitalism is that it creates the very conditions that destroyed it. The reason communism didn't take off was because of the new deal. If FDR and his team hadnt put together new projects to hire these out of work people and pass regulations on wall st, people would have been even more aggressive. There's a reason why a lot of history around labor and stuff like how we got the 5 day work week isn't taught in school. There's a reason why a lot of America's skeletons aren't exposed. It's the same reason why parents don't want the "woke agenda"[complete history including context] in schools. They don't want the myth of America as the perfect country that's been on the right side of history all the time broken.
If you can't admit your short comings, If you aren't even willing to discuss them, how can you improve?
