I think Russo was 90% spot on to be honest especially about that corny ass New Day shyt , Superkick spamfest and the lack of hype for Enzo and Cass. Balor going over everyone is obviously a statement that he's gonna be the guy so I get it.

If they were going to have reigns lose anyway they should have put balor and him in separate matches.

You have balor win the one match and rusev go over reigns. Especially if you were going to shyt on him AFTER the fact :leostare:

You cant have a champion losing in the first round?:snoop:

The casuals love the New Day stuff and have brought in tons of money for the WWE while being unique entertaining characters which is something that Russo should be praising. He can't even be consistent.

Man... A WHOLE lot of hypocritical Attitude era revisionist history about a lot of those complaints. Especially about the squash matches and telling a story in the ring. I loved the Attitude Era, but so much of it was squash matches or matches where a storyline or backstage segment overshadowed anything happening in the ring.

I love the attitude era.

It's by far my fave period especially 1997 but if we REALLY wanted to play by Russo's standards we could pick apart and ruin WELL over half of the stuff from 1997-2001

Russo is entertaining but he's barely if even a notch above the average knowledgable wrestling fan IMO without someone to filter his ideas.

You can tell who is in touch with the times by what they think a "casual" looks like or is.

* Nia Jax over in a squash match. Outside of the Internet Wrestling Community, why is anybody going to watch a fake fight when they know who's going over before the bell even rings? Good luck with this come football season.

He was booking TNA when Gail beat Kong.

And when Taylor Wilde beat Kong :comeon:
And when Jay Lethal beat Kurt Angle :comeon:
And when Pacman Jones won the tag titles without laying a finger on anyone :comeon:

he might have peaked for all we know.

look at owens, he beat cena his first match and now he's a midcard guy. not saying that can't change, but he's definitely trended downward since his red hot debut. a lot of guys start out great and then suddenly hit a wall. a guy like bray wyatt was hyped for weeks and weeks, had a sizzling start... then nothing.

the WWE has no idea how to keep guys hot after their initial debut, either that or they just don't care.

Russo didn't even touch the main events in the attitude era. Vince and Pat Patterson wrote the main events like they always did. Russo copied jerry springer and ECW in the undercard to varying success, sold WCW a bill of goods then drove them into the ground

This is the smae guy who wrote entire ppvs without a single clean finish

The same guy who wrote ppvs with interference in every single match

Didnt he book himself to be a champion.....even if for one night we had to believe he was worthy of the title

Yes Russo was a WCW World Champion and he was all up in the video in the Asylum TNA days :mjlol:

Not to mention during his time in TNA, he had a fetish for turning every new acquisition heel within a year (Angle, Cage, Steiner, Foley, Booker, Lashley, Morgan etc).

The Gimmick matches! Reverse Battle Royal :mjlol:Feast or Fired (which he used one time just to "fire" Curry Man (Daniels) only to bring him back as Suicide
