Bruh, those first 12-14 years you’re not doing your own hair is enough to permanently damage it. And definitely enough to affect thickness, many women don’t have thick hair - some never had it, some had shytty hair practices done to them as kids that permanently thinned it - and you can’t change that, length and health yes, density, no. So adding hair via weaves, wigs, clip ons, etc is still something they’d do regardless of how healthy their hair is.

A lot of what is done to children’s hair, especially black girls, damages their hair and instead of learning better ways, they continue using the same damaging methods for life. You take for granted how lazy some people are or averse to learning anything that isn’t entertainment or gossip based. This forum is full of them. Not everyone has the sense to seek information.
