I had a high rise in Downtown Dallas, before that I was renting a house in Plano, TX (Dallas suburbs) I actually just bought a house in Frisco, TX (Dallas Suburbs). I've lived in the Bay Area and Columbus, OH as an adult too tho. Never had a roommate that I wasn't fuking (it was always a gf), and I never needed a roommate to afford the lease.

That's part of the problem tho. People live where they want not where they can afford. Living pay check to pay check feeling "in the life" but they really on some broke shxt.

I've never had a roommate, never will. I like bringing women over as I please and I don't prefer to hear other people fuking. In your mind, what is the approximate age at which a man is considered "grown" and what type of job/career should they have to allow them to live alone in today's housing market? Where should they live in the mean time?

I just bought a house, like literally closed on it this week. I stay abreast of economic news, interest rates, market volatility, etc and have friends in multiple socio-economic "classes". I paid rent in a city where pre vs post covid rent increased 70% in many areas and house prices damn near doubled. It's not worse than the Lehman shock in '08 (which I had to ride out like a bunch of other people).

The difference for me is I would rather live in fukbush nowhere in a closet and control my own space than live in a 2 bedroom with a friend (or even worse a stranger) who I have to take considerations for.
