So you're impressed with symbolism too :laff:
You have chosen an untenable stance on this issue my black brother. Symbolism is extremely powerful which is why companies have logos, hollywood actors are generally really good looking people and also why Cam Newton has so many defenders after his pitiful and childish behavior post-super bowl. Look at the symbolism on the coli.com logo right now. Symbols are what the white power structure is using to brainwash America and the world about black people on the 6 o'clock news every night.

The idea that symbols are something to be derided and not considered and dealt with as the powerful representations of plans, ideas, objects and various entities that they are is laughable to me. These images are photo ops of course but I can remember meeting my district rep at age 11 and being impressed. I can only imagine what those black boys felt when they were able to enter the halls of power and interact with the most powerful black man in the world. Maybe it stirred something in them that will drive them to greatness, maybe not but you shouldn't dismiss symbols out of hand.

Of course but symbols are powerful in their own right and do carry value. Symbols won't put food on the table tonight but they can motivate a young mind to believe the sky is the limit and that has value..

Y'all nikkaz still falling for the politician "kissing babies" kick huh? :francis:

This isn't about convincing us adults. The premise of this thread is that Obama has been a symbol himself. A leader IS a symbol. The right wing hated Obama, not for his policies so much but because he is BLACK EXCELLENCE WALKING and stuffy old conservative whites do not like seeing that. Donald Trump IS also a symbol for white empowerment which is why he does so well with white men who feel like they are losing their grip on their country.

Donald Trump is not only a symbol of white empowerment. He actually has got tangible things done to support his views and policies. There is direct action to support his ideology and viewpoints.

Black folks get too caught up in symbolism and symbolic wins instead of real results. nikkaz be happy with moral victories:francis:

Why are you satisfied with just "black excellence"

Why aren't you striving for black progress?

Why aren't you holding Obama responsible for what he "promised" black Americans:beli:

Yes he does. More white power. Build a wall, keep out brown and black people. Make yuuuuuuuuuuuuuge deals with Putin. Make China and Mexico respect us again. I would vote for Trump only as a chaos candidate to drive the democrats further to the left in 2020.

I don't believe in Wins and Losses in the way you are using the terms. Maybe I'm old...

Why are you satisfied with just "black excellence"

Never said I was. I said the imagery and experiences are good for kids.

Why aren't you striving for black progress?
How you extrapolate that from my posts is beyond my understanding. I live black excellence daily.

Why aren't you holding Obama responsible for what he "promised" black Americans:beli:

And what did he promise black americans in particular? Don't consult the internet for the answers. You claim with authority that he has failed to deliver to black people in particular and whether I agree or disagree is immaterial to the argument that his presidency and dignity itself is a positive for young black children.

So basically you're happy with smoke and mirrors. Got it :ehh:

There is no rational explanation for how you arrived at this conclusion from my posts. In fact you sound like those ultra conservative cats on thefreerepublic.com right now.
