They've been especially doing this lately with all the young blacks making it in pro hockey like PK Subban. I've read CAC reporters talking about how they don't want hip-hop culture to "destroy" hockey like the NBA and NFL.
I played hockey as a kid and was exposed to alot of cism. Hockey is way behind other sports when it comes to race relations.
I disagree with hockey having only 50 years of dominance though, it's too ingrained in the culture to ever slip.
Frankly, if hockey does not clean up its act, it will lose top dog status. There will be a day when when youth soccer starts cooking, when that comes you should be prepared, because Hockey Canada sure isn't.

basketball has always taken a huge backseat to hockey up here. even when we had vince in his prime flying all over the place and the raps were actually pretty good, there'd still be like 30 minutes of hockey highlights before they touched on the nba.
