Ben Lederman is back in the US, and he's already scoring goals: http://bit.ly/1YBOAkr

Lowkey comin for that men's game too...:youngsabo:

Just know hearing about this. So he's to be sent back to the USA to have his development stunted. Perfect. He's at IMG which is our best soccer academy, but the learning and knowledge he would have received from Barcelona is priceless.

I don't think the college game helps US soccer that much, they should just follow what the rest of the world does and it would lead to some improvements. I have seen some English coaches in the US because of this pay to play system they have over here which exposes kids to substandard coaching. The NYT had this long article about Ajax and the Dutch system that the author concluded would be difficult to implement in the US. Some of those kids are leaving home at young ages traveling long distances just to play, Barca even got into trouble with their recruiting of kids. Eto left Cameroon for Spain at 16 years old and Real didn't even have someone meet him at the airport.

this is a flaw in the American sporting system, no? Its not efficient.
I mean I think it's speaks more to the popularity of the sports in certain countries.

I'm sure there's a player on England's national team who would probably be a good baseball or hockey player but if he's never played the sport or cultivated the talent...

We'll never know

If the Greeks were able to win the European Championship by beating the Portuguese, who were the hosts, twice in the tournament with guys like Ronaldo, Figo, and Deco in the squad - then the USA has a shot to win the World Cup.

Soccer isn't as popular as hockey football baseball and basketball in America?

Certain Athletes who gravitate to these sports could potentially be stars in soccer if they devoted all their time to soccer??
my statement wasnt exclusively about soccer. it was about how we teach sports in this country.

After following the sport the last 5 years I really wish I could have played. Only people we saw play it were non athletic suburban white kids so we thought it was corny
Me too breh. I went to one soccer camp when I was younger and seen nothing but white kids there. Never went back. Just stuck to football and basketball

You're not going to compete because the entire philosophy would have to be overhauled.

These kids are signed to professional clubs when they're still in that "girls got cooties" stage. They're in academies at like 8 years old being bred for this shyt like some fukking ninjas. Their entire lives revolve around soccer. It's not just some upper middle class hobby.
