They only exist for as long as we decide to play along with them.
Being that human beings usually only do the right thing as a last resort or some sort of over-arching tragedy, the separatist mindset is something people are going to have to choose to back away from as individuals until we reach that critical mass, whatever that may be. And to do such a thing, to see beyond the illusion of separation takes a strong will that indicates the potential for great influence.
I don't aspire to simply live in reaction to the world before me, I aspire to influence it. I'd much sooner strive to be the hundredth monkey in that sense than run off into the woods to be a monk, I don't feel like I was put here for that.
