I didn't take offense to it at all family. I understand what you mean as well. Being 'black' and being a man has served to give my life experience texture most certainly but it's still illusory. I will agree to disagree about an individual's perception being able to change reality.

On a personal level nobody has your vantage point despite any shared experiences, culture/customs. And that individual can certainly take his vantage point, embody it and influence the world in front of him...individuals have changed their worlds and subsequently changed other people and societies as a whole.

The question is do you want to live an influential life or a reactionary one?

Youve got nearly every type of facial features, hair type, body type in Africa with only skin colour being similar and even then complexions varys (see igbo people). If you think about, a Chinese person and and a german have more similarities than a Malian and a Khoisand. Yet theyre placed in the same race.
