Same here, Chinese and sushi are two things I don't play with. I didn't eat Chinese food the 4 years I lived on the east coast due to most of them looking questionable at best. Also like you, I don't get how people will just be like, "hey, that spot is open, let's just go there"... what that yelp rating looking like tho

I showed a couple of brehs at my job, one chinese who works part time at a family restaurant and a black breh and they said that looked fine. Black breh had to be trolling as he was like " When you get a nice greasy bag then you know the food is banging!"

For along time I would only eat shrimp and lobster at Benihana because they cook that shyt right in front of you and I can pick out the exact person who might have got me sick.
