Corrosion is too severe to fix obviously, but the rice is quite good at absorbing moisture. It's worked for me two times out of two, though I haven't had reason to do it for a very long time. And in both cases the electrics obviously didn't corrode or rust. The screen, the charge port and 3.5mm jack all got water in and on them, and the rice was able to drain that out

I think time is of the essence, you've got to be pretty quick about it or your parts would have began rusting

It has always been a immediate reaction for me. Within 1 minute my shyt is in a ziplock bag or container.

it's not worth doing at all because you're just delaying the inevitable. the internal components will eventually corrode. if you don't know how, bring it to a repair shop immediately and have them open it and clean it thoroughly.

if the device isn't worth fixing, backup any info once it dries because chances are it will start malfunctioning overtime.
