The scariest part was how they seemed to not really care about the situation.
As in they took the story and twisted it to fit their bullshyt narrative.
Look how they tried to shoehorn straight black men into the situation.
The entire debacle somehow became about black men up until it came out that he lied.
Not necessarily, people are already deflecting to R. Kelly and shyt. He'll do his bid and make a comeback eventually. Also just look @ everytime people get mad that some white only thing doesnt have a black person in it. It diminishes the impact if it were for something that you should truly be outraged aboutNah. Jussie will get his dragging. The only people who ask for an end to 'outrage culture' are white folks who take issue with Political Correctness.
Jussie will get his commupance. Already is, honestly.

you're right it's really the mediaA major part of the problem is the way the mainstream media treats social media as a solid indicator of what the general consensus is of people in general. You can have 20 people on Twitter "outraged" over some unfounded allegation. Meanwhile thousands upon thousands of other people are more level headed about a matter and want to wait until more information comes out before forming and stating an opinion. The mainstream media though will run the story with a false narrative of most people being outraged instead of just the 20. It's kind of like on here when someone posts a thread titled, "they're mad at" or "they're coming for", etc.. Meanwhile it was one random twitter user with two likes they're using as the basis for their thread.
Thanks Jussie.

Conservative firebrand Ann Coulter is weighing in on the Jussie Smollett case after the "Empire" actor was arrested Thursday over allegations he falsely claimed that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack.
“Alright, this particular hate crime turned out to be a hoax, but let's remember, ALL OF THEM are hoaxes. #Smollett,” Coulter tweeted Thursday.

Chicago police said Thursday they believe Smollett paid two men to stage an attack on him in an effort to boost his salary on “Empire.” The actor initially told police that his assailants shouted “This is MAGA country” and racist and homophobic slurs during the attack.
He was charged a day earlier with felony disorderly conduct for filing a false police report. He could face one to three years in prison.
President Trump also criticized Smollett after his arrest, tweeting Thursday, “.@JussieSmollett — what about MAGA and the tens of millions of people you insulted with your racist and dangerous comments!? #MAGA.”

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said the actor “took advantage of the pain and anger of racism to promote his career.”
“This publicity stunt was a scar that Chicago didn’t earn and certainly didn’t deserve,” he added.
It’s pretty common man, not on this scale but people get outraged about lame shyt like a crew team not having a black person or some celeb not dating black ppl all the time.People should evaluate things more carefully, in all situations, before commenting, but this ONE INSTANCE of a faked racial/homophobic attack doesn't mean that this is common or the norm. That's what racists, those kinds of white people will use it for. "Oh I knew it was fake, these people are all out to promote themselves". Basically, you can NEVER be outraged or angry, because maybe it's fake, which is essentially subduing righteous anger and outrage, which is dangerous.

We both agree that people should think and evaluate clearly.
White people need to stop it. All the white women and men who have blamed and lied on Black men and women since day one in America is nothing compared to Jussie. Thanks Jussie.
