Why would they be getting "the shyt beat out them"? It's just rap, why would there be a need to get physical? I don't see Kendrick getting the shyt beat out of him for mentioning any of those other grown ass men. Get out of here, you think this shyt is more wrestling than you claim to if that's your train of thought. :mjpls:

No one is saying that the two styles can't co-exist. What I am suggesting is that if Kendrick called out the rappers I mentioned it would be more entertaining IMHO. Fans of Chief Keef etc would be forcefully exposed to Kendrick because it would be getting a ton of buzz and create a greater dialouge among Hip-Hop listeners across the board/genre.

With the same punchline "Trying to make your core fans not want to hear from you nikkas" that would be wild entertaining because it's not like those rappers I mentioned do much for their core fans besides shyt on them anyway. :pachaha:

It would be fun as hell to see all the reactions because all the dudes that Kendrick DID name, he shares their fanbases anyway. Let's be honest here.

dog gucci aint takin no diss from nobody, he gon approach when he see u, think u gon beef wit these south trap rappers without physical conflict, nikkaz cant rap that well, they gon take the disrespect serious, southern beefs always get physical

Nobody who fukks with Keef hardbody would ever become a serious Kendrick fan out of the blue. I am sure there are people who listen to both, but if Chief Keef is one of your favorite artists you probably HATE rippity rap or only take it in small doses. Kendrick going after the folks he shares fans with makes more sense because they are the ones more likely to appreciate the kind of competition he is calling for.

And where did I say that this was the goal?

I stated that it would be exposing Kendrick to a larger audience and creating more of a discussion/buzz. To put it simply, it would exponentially expand Kendrick's visibility instead of keeping him in his bubble with his peers.

This isn't about gaining a Chief Keef type rappers core fans as much as it is saying "Hey you don't fukk with me but I am far superior to the rapper that you do! :manny:" Which, let's be honest, is one of the root elements of this rap shyt.

Everyone saying that Kendrick wouldn't be getting attention in the 90's is offbase imo...GKMC would be considered classic in any era...I can't in good conscious say that it would "just be another album" if it dropped in the 90's..The album is in a class with Death Certificate and Aquemini...I been listening to hip hop since 1987...Albums like that are rare no matter what era you wanna bring up...

gkmc would not be able to come out in the nineties.
as the rubrick, Kendrick bites was all solidly developed in the nineties concurrently from 93-98.

Kendrick's material and even this freestyle are lesser versions of concepts and skills all done better fifteen to twenty years ago.

anybody can be a good impressionist of more than one rapper.
supernatural has been getting over being a wack offkey impressionist for close to two decades.
so, being a biter or impressionist has been filtering through on all levels.
it is not just the commercial payola mainstream emcees,..
it is the underground acts, from the mainstream mixtape variety to emo.
what I find funny is,..
the mainstream gangsta trap rappers are biting underground emo shyt, too.
when a good six, to seven years ago.
their contingent of fans and even the artist would have called the direction soft.
the whole rap game from commercial direction to underground shyt is about faking jax, now.

You are making the mistake of thing 1) Chief Keef fans don't know Kendrick is a "better" rapper (objectively) or 2) that they give a fukk

Nobody is listening to Chief Keef for great lyricism... but odds are those people don't give a fukk about lyricism to begin with. If Kendrick and Keef got into it, all Keef would do is make personal snipes and death threats and call on his street credibility, which to Keef fans would be a W. There would be no kind of enlightenment or gained understanding... die hard Keef fans are just as slow as he is.

I don't know, I'll agree to disagree but I just think you're missing the point.

It's honestly not about whether or not someone like Kendrick can convert Chief Keef fans into his own, but more so that the presence of Kendrick in Chief Keef's world would be beneficial for the both of them based purely on the dynamic it would bring to the genre.

It. Would. Get. People. Talking.

More so than Kendrick just he-he'n with his peers about who's better when they CLEARLY share the same fanbase anyway.

Why not go somewhere where you can get MORE eyes, MORE controversy, stir MORE dynamically skewed discussions, etc.

Case in point it's just a matter of comfort zone. I'm saying that Kendrick should have stepped out of his comfort zone.

Moving along.

Nobody is going to die off this shyt, these dudes aren't built like that and thats a good thing

But they are also scared to compete & dont seem to feel like they should earn their stripes... thats a bad thing
Internet heads would LOVE it if someone got so emotional off this that it led to a bunch of isolated scraps and brawls.

It can't be about competition because rappers and the fans who dikkride them don't know how to handle it. Battles would be neverending and forever. Battling isn't fun to hip-hop heads if they already know that the venom that would come from those lines ain't genuine.

I think the instant gratification nature of this generation kind of takes the fun out of the kind of competition Kendrick is talking about. He put this verse out and within hours people were calling for blood. But if you look back, when Jay/Nas/Big/Pac/Mobb Deep were going at it behind the scenes, it was more like chess. People played the long game and made their strikes strategic. Now its like some schoolyard fight shyt... "you gonna let him talk to you like that????" The time is more important than the response. But then when the response is wack they get no credit for being prompt :snoop:

To add, back in the day, everyone was cliqued up, so rarely did people really run in the same circles. A crew was clearly a crew. Lines were drawn. Nowadays, crews like that don't really exist in numbers, and none of those crews go out of their way to ostracize themselves, not since G-Unit. Even Nas vs. Jay-Z, that battle from start to finish lasted from 2000- the last rant from Nas about it which was late 2002. That's a long time. We want all this shyt done within a week.

Fans nowadays hate it that everyone gets along. How would a fan feel if Kendrick and (using Drake as an example) are battling for lyrical supremacy and then a month later they're chillin at the VMA's or courtside at a Heat game? (and let's be honest, when's the last time you saw a high profile battle built primarily off of a quest to see who's better lyrically?) As a fan, you would feel, and justifiably so, stupid for investing your time and energy into something that they they don't seem overly worked up about.

People get on the whole Drake /Chris Brown beef, but shyt, that's how some of the bigger hip-hop beefs got started, some bullshyt over a girl.

Yea that last line is real talk. Big/Pac kinda beefed over a broad. Jay and Mase beefed over a broad some other dude was fukking :pachaha: But these guys all kind of sought out any kind of competition/confrontation. I mean Jada/Beans were beefing cause their friends were beefing. Now its like you said, they wiped the lines out of the sand and made a friend circle. Nobody wants to ruffle any feathers or fukk up the money train. And really, I think there is a smaller pot to eat out of, so nikkas have to be more careful. Back in the day a second string dude like Beans might have had a million fans. He could sell out a big venue headlining. Now a top tier act might have to piggyback. If you go plat today you're like God in rap (though a lot of brehs back in the days were running bar code scams but thats another thread). So nikkas cant be reckless like Pac, they mite not eat. But at the same time, a lot of these dudes just dont have the composition to really ruffle feathers to begin with. So there are a lot of factors that have made the game what it is today... and while I love Kendrick for trying to bring that old thing back, I don't know that putting nikkas on the spot and saying "not nice" things will be enough to make nikkas step up and take that risk. Plus when it comes down to it a lot of nikkas just arent that good

Yeah. IF Drake responds...its a wrap.

People who are paying attention know this.

People keep sleeping on drake and how calculated that dude is...yet people don't give him props when he rises above the bar and continues to shyt on the next guy.

uhhhh.. he can't just respond back. he actually has to say something back like go at him like krs one did to mc shan or nas did to jay z.
