I used to listen for the bangers as well...but I think he keeps remaking the same song on every "hot" beat but even those are coming far and few in between. He literally says the same shyt in every song ie...I'm the man in my city; I rep my city; I fukked hoes in this city; even when y'all hating on me I get love in some city; I got a lot of money; I gave hoes a lot of money because I can in yo city
over some overly airy moist production with a 90's r&b sample...spin and recycle

For me, Drake is really good for one or two songs just to get a good head nod or if I'm @ the gym and want to hear a good flow/cadence over a dope beat etc. Drake is clearly a good writer and knows how to ride a beat.

With that said, whenever I try and listen to an entire project from him the songs get fairly mundane and vapid after about 3-4 tracks, because like you said, he doesn't really talk about anything that's not surface level subject matter, nor does he venture outside of a handful of topics that he's already covered ad nauseam.

He is only an above averge rapper and is an average to poor singer, BUT he makes a really well thought out cohesive product that seems to have longevity plus he knows how to ride the beat properly.

With that, his songs have layers of production, best switches, the occasional ode to the old school...
Its as good a musc as there is right now.

Drake withhout Noah 40 though wouldnt work.....

I don't classify him as a singer. Dude has limited range, non existent vocal aerobic abilities, and constantly flat.
