Care to explain?
He was upset at his portrayal but even more mad that he didn’t make any money off of it.

he explained all this in detail in the legends of the unwired dvd

it explained a lot of things that the show papered over. For example the shootout in the apartment between Omar and Monk really happened but it was Avon who shot and killed Proposition Joe Johnson.

the real life Avon didn’t let people call him that they called him bodie and he was cool with Marlo Bates (who is locked up) but didn’t really fukk with timmirror Stansfield.

the dude who played Stringer was at war with bodie his real Name is Russell but he kind of got them to change details about him because he ended up like Marlo’s character on the wire.

marlo bates and tomorrow stansfield both went to jail.

Avon died in a NC jail trying to get back the game. He was injured like Omar was he kind of implied it was after the prop joe shooting but of course he couldn’t say it.

the real Omar was a composite character but the closest was the dude who gave him the magazines in jail

dikkie Moltisanti was killed when Tony was 9 or 10.

Sopranos was clear about this, he died when Chris was a baby and Tony is only 8-10 years older than him.

Looks like they retconning it here.

nah even though he was never in the flashbacks i could've swore he mentored tony and put him on early in the game

Yeah in the show Tony Looked up to dikkie which Is why he gave Chris so many passes. That being said the movie is slightly retconned because in the Flashbacks with Johnny Soprano Tony was around 7 or 8 when the Newark Riots jumped off, but in the movie he's an adolescent.

Don't really like the way the trailer was cut - it's put together like a comic book origin story - but it's there for hype so I get it. The main takeaway I have is that the castings look pretty good to me, Tony included, and having Chase on board means I will go in with some optimism.

I wish it were a mini-series instead of a movie though.
