I’m glad the Doc at least shed light on how groundbreaking and amazing that performance was. But they also talked about how awkward it must’ve been for the handful of black folks there to hear tens of thousands of white people scream “my nygga!” repeatedly
Not even gonna front. When I was in high school I went to a club (don’t even remember how I got in, I had to have been 14 or 15) and they played Jigga My nikka. Hearing a bunch of CACs constantly screaming “nikka” in unison low key made me hate rap music until I went to college.

Also the concert promoter John Scher is a piece of shyt. Dude justifies the poor planning, poor security and charging $4 for water while blaming Limp Bizkit for everything
Yea that shyt is crazy. Limp bizkit didn't make those people throw shyt at Primus but that's all anybody remembers is people crowd surfing on set pieces during "Break stuff"

Jonathan Davis from korn said Fred started that shyt too

The pod was kinda mixed on DMX the person, but they were debating whether he had the best show of the entire weekend simply because it was just him and his DJ.

Looking back at it, it's kinda wild how little hip-hop there was given where the music landscape was going.

I'm about to watch this doc, but from the Pod, I know enough about that to where you woulda thought I was there. They dropped a new episode today, and that shyt is 47 episodes deep on every little detail that weekend had.

and the founder of the show is an idiot because he tried to do Woodstock 50 and failed horribly.

Are you talking about the 'Break Stuff' podcast or something else?

Luminary. A new way to podcast

I listened to the first episode of Break Stuff because it was free but didn't bother with the rest since they were behind a pay wall. But it sounds like you're talking about an entirely different podcast.

On another note, I vividly remember Woodstock 99 being on MTV and a young me thinking it was one of the craziest things I'd ever seen up to that point in my life.

I didn't even know many of the bands that were playing but the huge crowds, mosh pits, and wall to wall MTV coverage showcasing the destruction had me looking at the tv like :dwillhuh:all weekend

Legit spent all weekend looking at them cacs like:dwillhuh::ohhh::dwillhuh::gladbron::damn:

All free.

Sorry I keep referencing the pod, but The Offspring performed Friday and noticed the crowd treating the women like shyt and said something to the crowd about it. Sheryl Crow kinda did too but the crowd would just be like "show your t*ts"

White dude at the end talking about how the cops responded to the rioting

"We're a bunch of 20-year-old white kids so when we start burning stuff down and like stealing from ATMs and just burning this whole thing down, the riot police, they come in very polite, you know and just move people out. They talk about like 'White Privilege,' like Jesus Christ. Like, if this was a hip hop festival in 2020 and people started burning it down, it would not go so nicely." :wow:
