I don’t know about most…I know some ny nikkas that’ll knock ya teeth out for that shyt :pachaha:…. but there is/was a lot of jewish people young and old mingled into that hip hop industry in NY….j gave gweneth Paltrow a pass(albeit much later, but I know
A highly doubt the Woodstock crowd are Trump supporters of today. That crowd like had 5% future Trump voters just off the nature of the acts that performed.

Liberal white people like live music festivals and everything that goes with it and they like to do stupid shyt at shows, mosh pit, burn shyt etc.

Also Kid Rock was not a Republican icon back then in image and his music.

Acts at Woodstock 99 like Fred Durst, Korn, Ice Cube, Kid Rock, Ice Cube, Cyprus Hill,Rage where in no way representative of Republican ideals in the late 90s.

You guys are starting to fall victim to the revisionist narrative this doc seems to be trying to push.

they are conveniently trying to reach and attach this to the current me too and social justice movement of today when it was just a large concert festival with white people wyldin
Trump is polarizing though.

I grew up with white kids listened to rap, did drugs...called each other nikka and all that who now vote Trump.

And them Limp Biskit type frat bros are exactly the type to vote Trump.

I don't see it as a reach to claim those fans would vote trump today.

In hindsight we really, really have it good today

A 50 dollar fight usually ends up on YouTube hours later, and pirating is unbelievably easy now
Back then if you ain’t have a black box connect or juiced DirecTV/Dish card connect, you was stuck paying or having a group of friends all put in on ordering the $60 weekend

I’m excited for this doc. Given the Fyre Fest Doc, this one was long overdue. Woodstock 99 was pure anarchy in festival form. :wow:

Are you talking about the 'Break Stuff' podcast or something else?

Luminary. A new way to podcast

I listened to the first episode of Break Stuff because it was free but didn't bother with the rest since they were behind a pay wall. But it sounds like you're talking about an entirely different podcast.
No. Podcast '99.

Podcast 99

All free.

Sorry I keep referencing the pod, but The Offspring performed Friday and noticed the crowd treating the women like shyt and said something to the crowd about it. Sheryl Crow kinda did too but the crowd would just be like "show your t*ts"
Awesome links. Thanks!

You're not understanding what is being said . Of course those ppl aren't Republicans at 20 years old. And furthermore, many trump supporters aren't true blue Republicans as much as simply trump supporters.

Many of The same ppl who are Trump supporters today as 40-45 yr olds, when they were 20 they listened to Korn, LB, Kid Rock, Eminem etc.

Kid Rock himself is a prime example. He was rapping with Run dmc, seemed like a down white dude....but now he's in his 40s, and look at him.

Years ago there was a documentary on metal music on VH1 Classic and Jonathan Davis basically said Fred Durst incited a riot. Telling people to break stuff, surf on plywood, and let out all your frustrations. You add to that the entire thing was organized piss poorly and you got the shyt show that was Woodstock 99. Fred Durst is lucky he got away with that.

The problem with the event was that the organizers were looking at it as a cash grab. Like y'all said, everything was overpriced. Long lines everywhere, some people were going out of town just to get food, all while missing the shows.

I'm old enough to have lived through it, and I remember being at home that summer and I couldn't find it anywhere on TV outside of MTV showing a clip here and there. The whole thing was on PPV. This was supposed to be the 90s generation's going out party and it ended up being a weekend of slow burning built up anger.

Years later I heard about the rapes in the crowd, shyt, there's footage of women being grabbed during performances and most were not smart by taking off their shirts. I remember someone from the Red Hot Chili Peppers telling the crowd to leave the women alone. The whole thing just slowly went away years later but there should have been a bigger fallout, maybe the organizers were held accountable but I don't know, I'm just going off memory.

The Fyre Festival was paradise compared to Woodstock 99.
