KD was light years better than Thon at the same point in their careers. Also, KD is a perimeter player, so he didn't have to really do a lot of banging. Thon is a 4 or a 5. He is NOT a 3 in the league. At 215, he will be eaten alive in the paint. There are guards in the league that outweigh him:mjlol: He may end up being a good player, but he's not ready to be a contributor yet. He does have good ball skills for a 7-footer, but I watched him play Harry Giles, and Giles dominated him. I don't see how he will be able to carve out space in the paint, rebound, or defend. He should be able to get some help side blocks, but will he be able to guard his man one-on-one. He doesn't have to be a lock down defender, but he can't be getting targeted and scored on every possession either. He has the talent to be a solid player in the league, but he will have to work on his body:whoa:, otherwise:francis:
Durant was a pretty good post player in college. It was one of the reasons why people liked him as a generational scorer.

What is the difference between him and Perry Jones III?

If I was a GM I would definitely do research on his background...

What is his motor like? Why did he scheme to avoid college AND Pro (D-League or overseas)? What is his social circle like? Why doesn't he eat? Does he have a drug problem?

Too many red flags for a 1st round pick most likely.
Talent. Jones had tools for days but he wasn't talented nor was he skilled. Add the low BBIQ and you have some issues. But he had a really nice jumper. Gerald Green is an example of talent combined with low BBIQ and low skill level.

Yeah, in college. He wasn't posting up grown men like in the league. Even in the league he wasn't posting up 4's. He was posting up smaller wings that would get caught on a switch. Now compare him to Maker, who will play predominantly in the post, will have to defend post players, isn't quick enough to play wing in the league, and isn't strong enough to play 4 in the league at the moment. He also doesn't shoot it with the range Durant shoots it with. I think that's a bad comparison. If Maker can put some weight on, he projects more like a Greg Monroe, than he does a KD. A solid big who should be able to contest shots, rebound, score on the block, and score in the mid-range. I don't see superstar.....I see solid role/niche player.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
After watching how the Bucks used him in Summer league he could be really good for them, they let him play his outside oriented game, which is exactly what they need from their 5. If he can hit the three and block shots as a center he would join a very small group of bigs that can protect the rim and shoot the three.

Is there anyone on that team under 6'5"?
