Some of the Marvel movies I didn't see in the theater because I wasn't interested, but when someone would tell me about the scenes I'd have the and try to see if they were on youtube

After "Avengers" everybody....I mean any demographic you can think of....white, black, old, young, soccer moms, hood rats, rich, poor, was talking about "did you see Thanos!?" knowing damn well they had to ask somebody who that was. That was trending on Twitter for a minute, even.

It's crazy how all this geek shyt is mainstream nowadays.

But it built excitement.

If you can get people excited about a film that's not coming out for 4 years, you're doing something right.

Doesn't matter if the movie would've made that much without the scene, it was something people talked about.

I hope Thanos shall be a major player in these films. The avengers basically set up for the cinematic universe to reach out into the actually marvel universe. Well Thor did that when they had the gauntlet on display in Asgard. Can not wait to see this play out

The film rights to FF is owned by FOX. Marvel can't touch that property. Although they did try to get Galactus back last year, but to no avail.

Fox: Look we know the rights to Daredevil are about to fall back into your hands. Is there anyway you'll give us more time to come up with a reboot?
Marvel: Sure...if you give us Galactus and the Silver Surfer.
Fox: ...Daredevil is yours'.

It sucks but when Marvel was on the verge of bankruptcy in the 90's they needed fast cash so they licensed a bunch of characters to different studios. New Line - Blade, Fox - X-Men, fantastic 4, DareDevil, Sony eventually got the rights after like 10 years in court - Spiderman, Universal - The Hulk etc. I bet now they wish they didn't do that, so they could have all their characters under their movie universe.
