My grandma died prematurely from her addiction to cigarettes, so I've never been big on that. Smoked one cigarette back when I was 19 and regret that.
As far as alcohol, I'm just not a fan. In my early 20's I would have a few beers and shots occasionally with my old coworkers (restaurant industry) but didn't really get anything out of it, besides seeing everyone else show out or get sick because they drank too much

Oh, can't forget the feeling of caked up teeth from beer
Personally my guilty pleasure is getting hyped over a couple cups of coffee on the weekend, focused instead of buzzed. For me its too much risk drinking off the chance of getting pulled over (even when not over the limit) or being a general target because you're buzzed at the wrong place at the wrong time. Haven't drank since NYE 2017 but maybe next decade I'll experiment with a liquor/wine just for special occasions once or twice a year, too focused on stacking paper right now.
And as far as women goes, yes it is a disadvantage. I'm 6'4 with locs so alot of women automatically assume from the jump that I drink and smoke so they get filtered out. It's not that bad for me since most of those women are not the ones I go for anyway. I still pull due to my looks and not having the "come through and smoke with me" ace-in-the-hole forced me to develop my mouthpiece/personality/hobbies.
