If her daughter is "thotting it up on social media" she's already clearly going in the wrong direction, physical and likely emotional abuse will only add to her taking solace in someone else, oftentimes an older man taking advantage of her, and she's not going to feel safe enough or comfortable enough to go to her mother for help, not that'd she be that much help anyway.
Older men almost always mean pregnancy, and judging from the house and her demeanor, they likely don't have much money, and babies cost a lot of money.
I don't know how else to state it than that. The mother has failed, and the father has too (if he's in her life).

I remember back in the day when my cousin told her mom she was pregnant at 17. I ain't never seen this side of my sweet little auntie but she took that water hose and beat the shyt out of her pregnant daughter in the driveway and down the street and into some bushes where she left her ass leaking. My cousin moved out and had the baby. She got pregnant again 2 years later at 19
